Do I have to have Facebook Account?
How come a lot of people today expect you to have Facebook Account?
I do not have Facebook account, and a lot of people think I am weird, because I do not have Facebook account.
I feel like I do not need to have facebook account to connect with people. I just do not use it because I feel like it is useless for me.
Is it required to have facebook account nowadays?
Why people think someone weird if you do not have a facebook account?
What's wrong with the world?
Am I the weird one for not having a facebook account?
Do I need to make a facebook account?

Don't feel pressured to have one! Seriously, if you don't want one, don't make one. It drives me crazy that people are like that. I mysel have a Facebook page, but I only have one so I could make a business page for my art. I do absolutely nothing with my personal page, I've had it for over a year and I still haven't posted anything or added a profile picture.! People ask me all the time, "Do you have a Facebook page, I want to friend you!" Then I tell them "yeah I have one, but I literally do nothing on it." They still friend me anyway for some reason.

So don't feel that you need to make one, to tell the truth, I wouldn't have one if it wasn't for that stupid rule that you need a personal page to make a business page. So don't feel weird either. And anyway, I think it's enter to have absolutely no interet in it then to be totally obsessed with it like most people are.

So no, it's not require to have one.
Your right, you dot need it to connect with people. We still have phones and email and *gasp!* face to face association!
I couldn't tell you what's wrong with the world in this, it's too much to cover lol
No your not weird.
And no, if you don't want Facebook, you don't need one.

Have a nice day!

Hi Steve! Unless you are interested in what a person you went to school with but didn't know\like is having for dinner then facebook IS pretty much useless to you. Wink

Unfortunately, there are so many people that are addicted to this online "social networking" infection that those who opt out or choose to stick with traditional socializing(you know..that thing where you actually shake hands in person)are viewed as outcasts due to the mistaken belief that the only humans on the planet without facebook accounts are transients and people who've spent a whole lotta time in "institutions".

That's why people look at you funny when you tell them you don't "belong"...they're thinking "is he one of these types?....Hmmm, he doesn't smell like a transient". Wink

To some, it's an all consuming part of their daily life knowing what others are doing and thinking at all times and commenting about it. "Love the giant spider tattoo on your face!..your sooo gorgeous now girl!".

There are however some benefits for the initiated, as long as you do not use your real name or your main email address(make a free slush account somewhere) and only enter basic info when you sign up. For instance I used to it show those interested in astronomy the latest pictures I take of Jupiter, Saturn and the Moon with my telescope.

One must be careful though!...for "the face" is always searching out ways to connect you to those it has arbitrarily decided share something...anything...in common with you. Graduate from Smith High School in 1992?..It'll offer to connect you with anyone else who did too!..yep, even that steroid freak football jock who once punched you out cold in the hallway just for fun!! "Hey!..What up bro?..long time no see!" Wink

Any of your girlfriends friends' still friends with her raging alcoholic asshole ex? Well, he potentially now knows who you are, your birthdate and where you work and what you look like if you post pics of yourself smoking weed for your employer, pastor or the cops to see!!

Facebook is not necessary for human survival. Smile

No. In fact, you are smart not to have one.

"Yeah so if you ever need info about anyone at Harvard. Just ask. I have over 4,000 emails, pictures, addresses, SNS. People just submitted it. I don't know why. They "trust me." Dumb fucks." - Mark Zuckerberg. This is an actual quote which can be found here:

http://www.businessinsider.com/well-thes...ems-2010-5

Check out how facebook sells users profiles to wall street for $120 each:

http://finance.yahoo.com/blogs/breakout/...15377.html

Check out how they changed the terms and service of instagram shortly after buying it:

http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/12/17...n-for-you/

I especially like this part:

“You agree that a business or other entity may pay us to display your username, likeness, photos (along with any associated metadata), and/or actions you take, in connection with paid or sponsored content or promotions, without any compensation to you."

Also, you do not have the right to stay annonymous on facebook:

"You will not provide any false personal information on Facebook, or create an account for anyone other than yourself without permission."

http://www.facebook.com/legal/terms

Employers also look through facebooks. And if they don't like what they see, they don't have to hire you. Check this out:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/04/20...41289.html

Why is there not a social media network that you can pay for a private, annonymous, ad-free experience? I would bet the reason is that your data is worth more to facebook than you could possibly justify paying for. I am 23 and do not have a facebook. I am too smart for that.
