I have few friends on facebook - embarrassed?

I'm a University student who only has about 100 friends on facebook, whereas everyone I know has over 300 friends. I actually deactivated my facebook account but feel disconnected from some of my high school friends, and other friends that I would like to stay in touch with after I graduate. But at the same time, I feel embarrassed only having about 100 friends and only a single picture of myself. Do you think it matters?

I had only one person on Facebook that I really wanted to be friends with and well we are now in contact by other means. Who cares. The rest are just people I worked with, so colleagues and a few others.

No, it doesn't matter. How many of those people do you actually know in person? And I have zero on there since I don't use it. Not embarassed at all about that fact.

nope it don't matter at all though I have 900 or more friend I don't know 99% of them they all are people who play the same games I do ...

I kind of feel the same way because i only have about 140 friends on facebook. Its because I only add people i know... I do know more people than that, and they have sent me friend requests but i havent added them because i really dont see myself talking to them in the future.
most of my other friends have like 300-500 friends, and i doubt they know ALL of them. Also they put hundreds of pictures of themselves on thier profile. To be honest, i dont have many pictures of me on facebook because i dont know what could happen to them. Someone could take them and photo shop them and make me really ugly then those pictures could become viral. Anyway, when adding people on your facebook, really think about if you will talk to them agian after you graduate. If you dont think you will then dont add them. You dont have to have a million pictures of yourself on there but you should put some just so people know there IS a sign of life over on your side of town. lol. anyway, I put lots of time into this answer so i really hope it helped.
