Adobe Muse: Is it possible to create a Social Network type website using Muse?
Hey everyone,

So ive recently came up with what i believe to be a pretty nifty idea for a social network type website, but i was just wondering is it possible to create such a website using muse? Ive created a few websites with it but never integrated features such as profile pages for users, searching options and other common things found on a few of the more well known sites such as Facebook, Twitter and so on. I dont really want to say what my idea is for obvious reasons, but if anyone knows if you can create a social network style website using Adobe Muse that can incorporate these such features, Id love to know. and if so can you point me in the direction of how to go about it, or to some instructional videos or sites that will help me out. thank you so much everyone,

Callum

Ill get straight to the point, No.

If your using Muse, you won't know much about web design and the many complex tasks you would need to achieve that Muse just really isnt capable of handling.

First of, Muse is for websites that kind of dont have much interaction, like advertising your restaurant.

You would need a website with powered by a high spec Database to store all the information such as Login details, status'... who's friends with who... And if you ever wanna go big.. Well, thats some SERIOUS hosting space needed.

You'll also need to be a master of PHP to design a website like that, and maybe Java too. (Real programming java, not JQuery or Javascript) for additional functionality.)

My advice?

Pitch your idea to a marketing company or facebook, twitter... myspace even. See if they like the concept, then try to sell it them.

Or you could go for the same route as me, an 18 year old wanna be java developer... Wait 6 years whilst you do a degree in programming, learn the skills yourself, take full credit. (And profit)

Your best bet is the use http://www.Ning.com it's a site for creating social networks. There is no way to do it with Muse and it'll take you forever to learn the code to build a social network on your own.
