Guy stared at me or a long time. what does this mean?

so i was at this party and was waiting in the line and this guy that i havent met but know about from friends and facebook was right next to me and were allit was packed so we squished together and everyone was facing the entrance but he was facing the opposite way. so anyway he was just standing there staring at me while talking to his friends. he wasnt even looking at them, just staring at me and we have never met... it was kind of weird but i know he isnt a creep because we have a couple mutual friends. the staring lasted for a couple of minutes and i barely made eye contact with him, i was just avoiding it by talking to my friends but i could see from my peripheral vision and i could almost feel him staring. what does this mean?
