You need to sign in and request for your account to be deleted. Deactivating it and deleting it are two different things. Deactivation gives you the option of coming back to facebook but in the meantime nobody can contact you. Deleting it means no way for you to come back to that same account. Sign in and type "how do I delete my account" it should tell you how to do so.
