Facebook app keeps me online 24/7?

So my friends are telling me that I always appear as online on facebook, I only use facebook on my smartphone, so why is it a green dot next to my name instead of the phone icon? I already logged out of all of my devices, I close the fb app after using it, but I'm still online to my friends and it's really annoying, is there a solution to this?

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note II and I use both the facebook app and the messenger app

go to your pc and log in with pc, go to profile and select log out of any devices, then delete the apps (fb and msngr) and again go to your pc and login with it then log out of there, then redownload facebook app from google play and setup it.
