All you need to do is sign in like you used do. It will reactivate once you have signed in.

Edit: I had my facebook deactivated for atleast a month before I reactivated it

If you just deactivated it, definitely you could reactivate it . However, if you permanently deleted it, and you said it was last year, then you can't reactivate it, but you can sign up for it again, and none of your messages or photos will be there.
If you delete you Facebook account permanently, you have 14 days to change your mind and sign in to cancel the deletion. After the 14 days, your account will be not existed.
