Why can't people write on my Facebook Timeline?

I updated to the new timeline last sunday and published. I didn't change the privacy settings, but now my friends can't write on my wall. privacy settings still say 'Who can post on your wall' marked as 'friends'. any ideas?

please login to facebook
go to the privacy settings page
scroll down to the option of timeline and tagging
click on edit settings
set who can post on your timeline to friends and then click done
check by asking any of your friends to post on your timeline if they are able to or not
let me know the staus
