Have you ever used Go Fund Me?

I need to raise money for emergency bills and I can't find any assistance anywhere. I came across GFM and was wondering if anyone has used it, for this kind of purpose or not and if it works? Any tips on getting people to actually donate or getting more donors? Also, I'm ashamed to post it on my facebook page. Anyone else ever felt this way?

It looks legit, but as with all online fundraising most people probably won't donate unless they know you personally or until enough others have donated to prove your cause!

There's lots of good examples of fundraisers both small and large on their site when I browse it. I can imagine there's a little shame involved in asking for money from friends on facebook in the first place, but you've found yourself in a desperate situation so maybe it's time to take a chance? If you're not ready to spread the word of your situation to friends/family then maybe you still have a chance to resolve your problems yourself, and can save the fundraiser idea for when things really get tough, if they already aren't!
