Question about facebook photo albums?

Since i updated my profile to the new facebook, alot of my privacy settings have changed.
I wanted my whole profile to be private, however, i've recently discovered that pretty much everything has changed to being public! So i went on to facebook, and changed everything to 'Friends' again...
However - Yesterday i uploaded pictures and friends of friends were able to comment on them...

So say i tagged someone in my photos called Joe Bloggs - And my privacy setting was 'Friends', then would THEIR friends be able to comment and see as well?
