Why hasn't my friend accepted my request on facebook?

We both meet up afterschool and sometimes walk home, as we live in the same neighborhood. I added him a week ago, and he still hasn't responded.

he's not the kind that would use you. in fact, every other 2 weeks we both go to a donut store, I'm willing to pay for it, but he insisted in a good way, to pay for every donut we bought.

He probably isn't a Facebook junkie, not everyone breathes and lives in Facebook. I only go on every couple of months.
