the created posted a tweet on twitter. The game annoyed many people cause them to rage quit and he got many complains because of this he decided to take action and remove the game in 22 hours which is today.

Because the creator could not handle the levels of abuse he was getting. Plus he wanted to go back to having a simple life, void of public and media attention.

Well you got many answers why but, in return I will give you all and other people a certain fun fact about the game... (And a more in depth answer to your question....) Just recently the creator wasn't getting threats from just people rage quitting (I'm one of them, BUT I DID NOT, I REPEAT I DID NOT THREATEN HIM!!!) it was also Indie game developers. Due to this guy making over 53 million dollars from all the downloads that people have been doing and only making it in 3 days time (Now if you didn't comprehend that very clearly I don't blame you, but lemme try again: THR33 DAYS TIME!!!) really pissed off other developers due to them not getting paid as much for games that they've been working on for 3 years (once again: THR33 Y3ARS!!!). So it's all in who's getting a profit and who's not.
I'd get pissed off for all the work I've put into a game and only get about a thousand when another guy's getting 53 MILLION!!! That's basically more than what the PS4, Xbox ONE, Wii U, and DS console made.... Wait for it... COMBINED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dong Nguyen, the creator of Flappy Bird couldn't handle the publicity. He believed people overused it.
"I am sorry 'Flappy Bird' users, 22 hours from now, I will take 'Flappy Bird' down. I cannot take this anymore."
That was a tweet he made.
