Yahaoo avatars HELP, where are they found, once created?
OK...yahoo's no answers to my avatar Qs is driving me nuts. so much for paying for an account. their help pages are NO help. there is no general Index...
I have somehow made 3 avatars but i do not know where they are stored or how i access them so i can actually use one of the little things. the one i was using vanished from view when they updated the way my mail page displays. i want to put it back, 2 1/2 wasted hours later i still cannnot find them.
they are MADE. i cannot find where they are STORED, nor access them. i do not need to make any more...

When you create a cartoon avatar http://avatars.yahoo.com displays the latest one and others are saved under the "favorites" tab. There are no others.

You can upload a photo, use a Yahoo! cartoon, or use one from Facebook or Twitter as your avatar.
I have heard that Facebook or Twitter avatars along with Yahoo must be jpg but I have not been able to verify it.

STEP 1.
Your profile is currently visible.
In order for your avatar to appear you may have to make your Yahoo! Profile visible. Try the other steps and come back here if it does not appear.
Go to: http://profile.yahoo.com/y/settings/privacy/ and make sure the profile is not hidden.
There is no reason to hide your profile. Nothing appears unless you enter it and turn a switch on. The name can be anything you want.

STEP 2.
If you want to use your Facebook or Twitter avatar be sure to link the sites in the Profile options.
http://profile.yahoo.com/y/settings/linked-accounts/

STEP 3.
To create a cartoon avatar first go to http://avatars.yahoo.com and create one.

STEP 4.
You have 3 choices of where to choose the photo to use.

✔ While at http://avatars.yahoo.com click on "Yahoo!" under "Export your Avatar".

✔ Go to your Yahoo! Answers settings at http://answers.yahoo.com/my-activity/edit/about and click on "Update photo or avatar".

✔ Go to your Yahoo! Profile at http://profile.yahoo.com and click on the current avatar.

Upload one or choose an existing one. The same avatar is used throughout Yahoo!.
[The cartoon avatar from step 3 is does not appear as a choice in the Yahoo! Profile. Use one of the other 2 methods. If any other problems occur always try the other methods.]

NOTE: Procedures on a portable device may be different. I can not help you with that.

They are stored on the avatars site http://avatars.yahoo.com under My Favorite Avatars.

After you Save Changes to your avatar you need to click the Yahoo icon and Export your Avatar. Hover your cursor over the My Activity tab and select Edit My Preferences. Click Update photo and your avatars should be in the menu list.

The Yahoo! Answers blog linked below has some instruction steps on how to download an Avatar image once you've created it. Please note, however, that the blog's main point is that Avatars are going away in April. Hopefully that gives you enough time to download what you want!
