Conservatives: How do you address Income Inequality?
I just want to know, because one major economic situation in this nation is our income inequality, and the reason our economy is not growing is because all the CEO's of corporations are taking all the profit while the rest are seeing their real wages decline. Conservatives say this is bad but isn't it really the long term effect of Reaganomics? Complete deregulation and massive tax cuts and write-offs for the rich? They say the free market is the answer yet this is the result of it as well as slave-wage capitalism. So tell me Conservatives, how would you address income inequality and what would you do if you were president? I'm assuming you can't just take their wealth, because you consider that redistribution and socialist...
@bmovies60 You do realize that taxes overall today are lower than they were during the Reagan Administration, right? And no corporation actually pays their required rates, after all their deductions and write offs their lucky if their rate is over 10%...

and as far as regulations..name me exact regulations implemented under the Obama presidency that is keeping our economy from growing

False. The reason why the economy isnt growing is directly due to obama incompetence, big government overregulations, taxes, and spending.

quickest way is to deregulate the economy because the regulations only serve to protect established businesses from new competition. Limit the power of government so that no business can wield it like a weapon against rivals, potential competitors, and their customers the way that hospitals, oil companies, large banks, government contractors, etc do every single day.

I am a conservative. You are wrong. Income inequality is a bogeyman created by liberals. People get paid what they are worth to their employers. the day will never come when a person cleaning toilets in McDonalds gets paid as much as a cancer surgeon. Your whole idea is ridiculous.

The decline in living standards for the average American is the most serious situation in America today. But the facts are more complex than just Mr Reagan's 'Texas Chainsaw' attack on American society.

The height of American living standards was in the late 1970s, since then there has been a nonstop decline. The skyrocketing price of Oil, the Outsourcing of manufacturing jobs, the freezing of Public Sector pay, the spiralling cost of Medical Insurance, all have contributed to Americans loss of well being.

The most ominous cloud on the horizon for Americans now is the proposals to privatise Social Security and Public Pension Funds. This is being sold to Americans on the back of 'the Private Sector is more efficient', no it is not. Typically Private Sector Management of Social Security would see costs of around 30pc for management and other costs.

Toss aside complex economic arguments and erudite explanations for disparities in wealth. Simply visualize an economic model predicated on the principle that the rich accumulate a consistently greater proportion of available wealth, and that this principle should trump ALL other considerations. Apply the template to post Reagan America and it becomes crystal clear that this is indeed the way it works. America is a straight up plutocracy, and if the shoe fits, only a fool would deny that the tassled loafer is standing on his neck.

Why do you think Obama gets re-elected? Because those that don't to do anything get Unemployment checks, food stamps, free cell phones. For what? Doing nothing but sitting on their asses, eating steak with FROM Food stamps, expecting those that work hard for a living to pay their way. This is the LIBERAL, SOCIALIST WAY OF OBAMA.
Seen an overweight lady buying bro cerise with $700 worth of Food stamps buy rib roasts and lobster tails. Pathetic society we live in under the Obama loonies.
