Should I contact my old friend?

Well, we were both the best of friends in High School and then after High School, our relationship was damaged and we both stopped talking because I was going through a lot and had depression and anxiety. I've always wanted to apologize for treating him like sh*t. But now i'm a lot better and I really want to contact him but i'm afraid that he's moved on with his life. We both go to the same College, and we wave to each other in the halls but that's it. I have him on Facebook and I could contact him but I don't know why i'm afraid to.......

So, should I contact him?
