How to get facebook to stop putting those trick advertisements on other peoples' walls?
On facebook I have noticed recently that those stupid trick advertisements are being posted on everyone's statuses, under the name of a user. I always had thought to myself that those users had probably clicked on an advertisement or downloaded something stupid to get it.

Yet now I see myself having the same issue.

I had been on facebook yesterday with no problems. Yet I wake up this morning to find out that I made over 100 comments on other peoples' walls, all saying things like:

wat's up this place forgot to put any billing page. I just got an iipadd, didn't have to pay. get yours! hurry be4 it is fixed.
http://apps.facebook.com/grazeize/?mvfiuexp
http://martpadsnow.shop.co/?mvfiuexp
apps.facebook.com

or

wat's up this place forgot to put their checkout page. I just got an ipaaad, didn't have to pay. get yours! hurry be4 it is fixed. http://apps.facebook.com/grazeize/?hqdlsqxp
http://martpadsnow.shop.co/?hqdlsqxp
apps.facebook.com

and many other things of the like.

I'm going to end up spending the next half hour or so deleting all these stupid comments.

In the past few weeks, I have NOT downloaded any apps on facebook or clicked on advertisements, nor does my computer have a virus (that I know of). That includes not clicking on the trick advertisements I've seen/been posting.

Why is this happening? How can I fix it?

Please help. I'm desperate!

(BTW, I highly suggest that you DO NOT click on those advertisements that I've shown as an example!)
OK, I've done as you said. Now I'll see if I keep sending them. Before I did this they were still being send out continuously for the past couple hours. Hopefully this will work.
Nope, didn't work. They're still being sent out. :/

I've noticed this happening too! There are a few things which may be going wrong.

If you're adamant you never clicked on them, then it's possible that an application you are already using is the culprit. Check the permissions of your applications, and make sure that they aren't allowed to post to your wall at all. If you cannot remove the permission, then I suggest you don't even use that application because it isn't worth it.

Another possibility (which may not be the case since I'm not 100% sure if this is possible) is that one of your friends allowed the application to interact with you in some way, which caused you to automatically interact with it and for that to happen? I'm not sure if it's possible though. It might be tied in the the App/Game "accept this gift" type thing, maybe its possible to auto-accept "gifts"?

If that is indeed the case, or something similar, you could either block the application sending these messages (in the timestamp, you should see something like 2 hours ago via such-and-such; click on the such-and-such will take you to the app page allowing you to block it). Or, go Privacy Settings > Edit your settings for using apps, games and websites, then click "Edit settings" beside "Information accessible through your friends". Then make sure they are all unchecked.

Another good prevention would to be to educate all of your friends on this matter: not only will you be better off, but so will they! Smile

I hope this answer was helpful Smile
