What is the best way to promote a youtube video on twitter so that people watch it?

I've noticed that twitter is becoming a less popular way of getting people to watch youtube videos, as most people think just think it's spam.

No twitter is a great place to get Youtube View, Just make sure your tweet is crafted in an interesting way. Eg : OMG! Justin Beiber's new album teaser http://xxxxxx.com do watch it!

I do not know where you get the idea that Twitter is getting less popular. On what data or observation are you basing this?

The best way to promote a youtube video is with interesting recurring tweets. For that you need a service like Socialoomph that can help you to retweet regular messages over and over again.

However: NOT the same message. The smart way is to prewrite 50-60 tweets with some helpful or interesting things that would make people curious to want to click on the youtube link and to watch that you want them to watch

Then you upload those messages to a service like socialoomph.com or hootsuite.com and they will post your reminders about the youtube video. It is best not to use just ONE twitter account. You reach actually more people if you have several twitter accounts posting for you.

But keep in mind that is indeed considered spam if you keep posting the very same tweet that just says basically "hey, this is fun, click this... blah..."

Twitter can be a powerful way to get your video out there as long as the content is good.
Follow someone's page and ask them if they can pass your video around to people. I only have 41 followers but when I do post it on twitter, at least a good third of them watch the video.
So, asking someone to do it and if they do it will get you out there fast. The worst they can say is "no."
