Is my school invading my privacy?
My school is able to look though students Facebook accounts (statues) which I think is invading our privacy! Some people at my school have been told off by the school for what they posted on Facebook! They are allowed to look though our statues only (I think) because my headmaster said in assembly"The school prints out a document of all the things you post on Facebook and I will be talking to some people after assembly" They said its because they want to stop bulling but I don't feel comfortable knowing when I post a status teachers can see it! even if its not bad! I don't post that much stuff and i've deleted loads of bad statues but I'm still worried! They better not start doing that with twitter because I have about 4,786 tweets and i'm not going through all them! and I have lots of followers and no way am I deleting my account.

I don't think they're allowed to see your status updates... You should hide people being able to see status' that aren't your facebook friend. Or check your friendslist, someone on there could be a school access account that just spys on what your doing.

Facebook has a lot of privacy settings, try making your profile a little more private so only friends can see your statuses and profile. Also if you want to make your statuses even more private, you can actually decide who sees them out of your friends, for instance you can disallow let's say your brother for instance from seeing a certain status. It's very easy to keep your profile and statuses hidden from certain people.
As for twitter, well I don't know much about it's privacy settings but I'm sure if you do some googling you'll find some advice on how to make that more secure however I doubt they'll find your twitter. Overall everything you post on the internet is public therefore it's free speech and is not protected by any privacy laws or such so it may seem like the school is invading your privacy and it's creepy, I know but they are not breaking any laws, sadly. |

That's what my school said too! I personally think that they shouldn't be allowed to that.
