Prevent a person from appearing under "friends" on facebook profile?

Ok, on my facebook profile a lot of the same people are always shown under the friends area including my ex-girlfriend. I'm getting tired of having to look at her face every time I visit my own profile but I don't want to delete/block her. I need a way to keep her from appearing under that list.

Does her appearing there constantly mean she views my profile a lot?
She's been under there since we broke up close to 3 months ago and I've gained like 15 friends since then.
That can't be true because I haven't viewed her profile in at least over a month because I thought that would take it away.

there is no way to "hide" a person from your friends list

and her appearing in your top friends does not mean she is viewing your profile, it means you are viewing her profile - facebook is just helping you stay in contact with the people you interact with the most
