Looking for a good Helmet cam!?

I'm going to be leaving for basic training in April, and I wanted to buy a helmet cam so while I'm in AIT ill be able to show my friends and family what I have to do day to day.

I saw that GoPros have mounts that will attack to the Night Vision mount spot on combat helmets, but I wont have that mount on my helmet until i actually get deployed, and that's if i ever get one. All of the other mounts that I have seen are all sticky mounts and the combat helmet has fabric all over it so Im not sure how well the mount will stick to that.

Any way just need some advice on what I should get and how I would go about mounting it to an army combat helmet.

It is highly unlikely they would allow you to use a camera video taping the training.
