How can I reactivate my facebook account?

How can I reactivate my facebook account?
My problem is because of the fact that when my sister recently created a facebook account and as we share an email address, she added our address as her contact email.
However, now my original account has apparently been deleted, and I cannot access it, even though she has changed her contact email to an alternative.
My account was very important to me as I have lots of pictures and contacts through the account.
I have emailed various facebook email addresses, and I either get an automated message or just ignored.
Has anyone gone through this, and got their original account back properly again?
I really don't want to make a new one, and anyway thats against facebooks rules, unless I create another email address.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Well no I can't log in because it would want my sisters password, not mine. But shes changed her log in email to something else now anyway, so the original email address doesn't work with any password.
I think that what you mean by reactivating is when you haven't been on your account for a while and then you reactivate it if you know what I mean. Thanks for the help though. x

Well it sounds as though Facebook might have deleted your account.

I will first ask this? Did you try to sign into your account the usual way with your original email and user name? If that's the case and you received the above problem then Facebook did delete the account.

I went to the Facebook help center and asked about retrieving accounts this is what they say:

"You can reactivate your account at any time by logging in with your login email address and password. If you're experiencing login problems, please view the frequently asked questions listed above."

So if the steps above don't work then the account might just well be gone and you'd have to start a whole new account, unfortunately.

Step 1
Head to the Facebook Web site to reactivate your account.
Step 2
Log in to Facebook as if you'd never left. Use your original email address and password.
Step 3
Check your registered email account for a confirmation email from Facebook with directions on how to reactivate your account.
Step 4
Follow the link in the email. You will be taken to your home page, which will appear exactly how you left it. All your settings and events are intact upon reactivation. All you have to do is start exploring again.
Hope it helps you. For more information http://www.iyogi.net
