Facebook Picture Virus?
A friend of mine was on Facebook clicking through pictures the other day and a window popped up saying that there might be security threats on her computer and asked her if she wanted to scan. When she tried clicking off of it she could no longer access the internet except for porn sites. She tried disabling the proxy server settings but it just resets itself. Also, she can't run antivirus software, burn files to a CD or copy files to an external hard drive. I'm guessing that this virus modified the registry but don't know where. Has anyone else run across this or heard about it?

Apparently one of the advertisements on that page included a malicious download.

Please find some way to get this installed on her computer, to scan for malware: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

You'll probably need to start the computer in Safe Mode; press F8 when Windows begins starting up.
