why wont facebook let me see my notifications anymore?

like 2 weeks ago, facebook stopped showing me my notifications. they only show me ones for like stupid applications i have. people coment on my pictures.. and theres no notification. i did change some of my settings a while back, made everything so only my friends can see stuff. but that wouldn't have done it. would it? i went back to see if i might have clicked anything about notifications. but i didn't. i don't get why i can recieve them from stupid applications, but not from anything else.

is there anything i can do?

click on the inbox tab then notifications, you should be able to see stuff there.
