Is there a way to create a facebook page for free?

I was trying to create a facebook page for an awareness website I created and it said about paying a monthly fee. Is there a way to create a page for free?

Creating Facebook page is free of charge. They only charge you when you run a banner ads to promote your page.

1. Go to http://www.facebook.com/pages/create
2. Click on "Brand or Product" icon
3. Select "Website" as the category
4. Enter your website name
5. Check the checkbox "I agree to Facebook Pages Terms"
6. Click "Get Started" button

Then, just fill in your website details and save the info!

Facebook will ask you to promote the page, but you can just ignore it.
