Do you think XBOX Live Gold is a ripoff?
I do and here is why:

Streaming/using Netflix, Hulu, Facebook, Twitter on my iPad FREE
Streaming/using Netflix, Hulu, Facebook, Twitter on my laptop FREE
Streaming/using Netflix, Hulu, Facebook, Twitter on my HTPC FREE
Streaming/using Netflix, Hulu, Facebook, Twitter on my android phone FREE
Streaming/using Netflix, Hulu, Facebook, Twitter on my PlayStation 3 FREE
Streaming/using Netflix, Hulu, Facebook, Twitter on my Wii FREE
Streaming/using Netflix, Hulu, Facebook, Twitter on my XBOX 360 $4 per month

Those apps should not be behind a Gold subscription they should be part of the FREE Silver subscription. People claim that Gold is worth it for the Online play alone so my point stands. Microsoft is charging people needlessly for apps that are free on every other platform. I don't do online gaming. I play my games for the single player campaign/story. I have a Wii in my bedroom for Hulu and Netflix and it would be nice to have Hulu and Netflix in the living room through my 360, but the $4 a month just for that privilege is ridiculous.

Since you deleted your other question, I'll say again:

No because I pay for Gold to play online multiplayer. All of that stuff was added much later. Being able to use Netflix which I already had an account for before it was added to Live is just an extra. If you're paying for Gold just for the apps, you're a fool.

-You asked if we think Gold is a ripoff and then said why you think it is. I responded saying I do not think it is because I pay for the online multiplayer. If you are not asking a question to which you want responses and instead are just making a statement, don't phrase it in the form of a question. I know Answers adds the question mark, but you are asking 'Do you...'.

My opinion is my opinion. You can use Live for whatever you want to, but don't ask a question and then get defensive when someone shows a opinion that is different from your own.

I see my response saying exactly what you just said Milk84 is now also gone. Re-word the question if you don't want replies which don't agree with you. Xbox Live is not a rip off.

tbh you pay for gold to play online and yes it is worth it.. $4 a month isn't much that's the same price of a meal.. and so what why use facebook and twitter on xbox if you have a laptop or ipad or whatever and netflix costs anyway on any platform/computer and i pad so no it ain't free thats if you got a premium netflix account like i do

Well, you know what your getting if you purchase Xbox Live. If you don't want it, then don't get it. I was a little upset at the price increase, but I think it's worth it otherwise I wouldn't buy it. Like a previous answer said, those things were added AFTER for no additional cost, so if I'm paying for a service and then get those for free, isn't it the same thing?

I think the price should have stayed at $50 for 12 months, but $10 isn't going to make me stop. If you don't like it, then sell your Xbox 360 and get a Playstation 3. Problem solved.
