Three page college English essay on social media?
I have to write an essay for English about social media and its effect on social skills. More specifically either attacking or defending this quotation.
"Wireless communication, and more specifically the Social Networking Site (SNS), decreases dramatically the opportunities for human-to-human contact and undermines the social lives of millions" I was going to defend it but I don't know how to organize or plan out this essay. Help is much appreciated because I'm completely stuck. Thanks! Ads |

The quality of the essay will depend on
1) A strong thesis statement 2) Having 3 good points that defend your stand 3) Strong transition statements Here's a possible thesis statement: "Social networking sites have this impact for three main reasons." Here's how you can use this thesis statement: Intro paragraph Blah blah about social media, its growth, its huge popularity, whatever. Keep it short. Then transition into your thesis statement. It has sometimes been said that wireless communication, and more specifically the Social Networking Site (SNS), decreases dramatically the opportunities for human-to-human contact and undermines the social lives of millions. Social networking sites have this impact for three main reasons. (<-- thesis statement) First body paragraph One of the most important reasons that SNSs interfere with live contact between people is (whatever) Use this paragraph for your most intriguing point, so it will "hook" the reader into reading more of your essay. Second body paragraph Besides (whatever reason in the first paragraph), a second reason that SNSs interfere with face time between people is whatever. Use this paragraph to bury your weakest point. Third body paragraph But even more important that (reason number 1 and reason number 2), a third way that SNSs undermine the social life of users is because of whatever. Use this paragraph for your strongest point so the reader will be convinced you are right, and that you know what you are talking about. Conclusion Don't recap Don't disagree with yourself by pointing out beliefs that contradict yours. Use this paragraph for your reflections on the topic, from the point of view of your expertise. Say something large about the topic -- larger than the 3 points of your paragraphs. Ads |
