Is he interested in/attracted to me?

A couple of months ago at school when I was standing in line at the canteen, I saw this guy a couple of meters away from me staring at me. It was kind of a really weird situation because we both kept staring at each other smiling then looking away then staring at each other and smiling over and over again. I know this sounds so cliche but it felt like we had this instant connection... So anyway, weeks after I've seen him around school alot (we aren't in the same year level, he's in the year below me) and there's been so many times where we have made eye contact and smiled at each other. I decided I'd go up and introduce myself, so I did. He seemed like such a sweet and kind guy. We kept seeing each other around school again after that and a couple of times he'd like stop right in front of me as if he was going to talk to me, but then he'd walk away. Then a couple of weeks later we had a beach day for school. Both our year levels went and our groups happened to sit right next to each other on the beach. One of my close guy friends was with me so we went up and started talking to him. He was digging a hole in the sand, when my guy friend decided he'd smash it... So they both started swearing at each other non stop and I felt really bad... I know people say when a guy likes you or is interested in you he won't swear at all around you but I'm thinking maybe he was trying to act like the tougher guy around my friend (especially because we are in the year level above him) because he was still smiling at me and making eye contact with me after this incident. A couple of days later was the holidays so I added him on Facebook and he accepted. We haven't spoken yet (we are both pretty shy) but I've noticed whenever I do something on Facebook, he does a similar thing not long after me. For example, I liked lots of music pages one night and then 10 minutes later he liked some too. He barely does anything on Facebook so it surprised me. Another time I liked a photo of a cat involving a red laser, he liked almost the exact same photo the night after. I know these things are only little, but I don't understand why he is doing it straight after me when he barely uses Facebook for that sort of thing.
So what do you think? Do you think he might 'like' me/is interested in me/is attracted to me?

He so wants your body babe it's a well know fact that 10 minutes is the perfect time for a long lasting relationship

I think he's attracted to you, if he stares and smiles, most likely he does like you.

Yes he is attracted to you and feels shy. He is seeing the things that you like on Facebook (saves him asking who your favorite bands are etc) By him copying or liking the same things as you may be his way of letting you know that you have a lot in common.

Why don't you send him a private message and just say 'Hello, how are the holidays treating you?'

Nothing more, nothing less. It gives him the opportunity of talking to you without opening his mouth.

He might feel a bit intimidated because you are in a year above him.
