FaceBook experts please answer!!?

Hi my lil sis wants to join Facebook she is almost 12 and very responsible my parents have thought it through and they have decided she can have Facebook. There are a few privacy questions I wanted to ask, though, because I don't know about this kind of thing as I don't have Facebook. First of all, how do you set your profile to private? Also, is there a way you can prevent people, even contacts from seeing other contacts and how many you have? Many thanks I will give best answer to the first person to answer all my questions

Well you can block certain people and even if they are your friend, you can block them. Once you create it it should give you options. If its already created, you should see her name at the top. Click on it. Click settings. It should be on there. If its on an iPod/iPhone/iPad, then click the three lines in the top left corner. A grey slide will show up and scroll all the way down. The button should be a button that says settings.

nobody can join facebook unless he/she is 13 or older. unlees he/her uses fake birth date.

1) She will need to be 13 year old to legally be allowed to use FaceBook, Unless you fake her Birthday date (bare if mind Facebook will have the right to shut the account down if they chose, they most likely won't but keep it in mind).

2) To set your profile to Private or so only your friends can see your Wall/Time Line, Pictures, Comments, ect. - You first need to click a small arrow on the top right hand corner of the Facebook bar at the top, This will give you a drop down list in which you will need to click Privacy settings.It will then take you to a page which will allow you to adjust the settings of;

How people connect you - Who can look at your Timeline by searching your name, Who can find you by searching your Email address or phone number (that you have put on Facebook - Highly advise you never to enter your Phone number on Facebook), Who can send you friend requests and who can send you Facebook Messages.

Who can tag you in pictures, Who can post on your timeline, who can see what others post on your timeline, Who can see what you been tagged in on your timeline,

And block people and apps.

3) There no way to prevent your contacts from seeing your other contacts and how many you have.
