It's never okay to cheat. But snooping through other person's stuff is also ethically bad.

If you were worried about his behavior, its your right to do that.. But without any reason you shouldn't check his messages.. But hey he is in his fault too .. more then you .. Cheating is off the record, so therefore you should tell him what you saw so you can work on it, or you shouldn't and just dump him .. or you can say it him then dump him.. Score is : you 48 % , him 52 % wrong..

If you feel that you need to see his Facebook in order to ascertain whether or not he's cheating, then there are trust issues that are crippling this relationship to the point where maybe it should be ended. I'm not sure what "seeing" his Facebook means...he won't be friends with you, or you want to see it from the position of the administrator? It does make a difference, because I had a boyfriend once who wouldn't be friends with me on Facebook and it turned out it was because he had another girlfriend. So, that's a red flag, definitely. If you want to see his Facebook from his view, the administrator's view, yes, I can see where that would be violation of privacy. He interacts with friends privately and THEY have a right for their communications with him to be private. How would you feel if you found out your best friend's boyfriend was reading messages about you complaining about guys you like and your period and other private things only meant for her eyes? Bottom line, however, if you suspect he's cheating that's a trust issue and maybe the two of you should just end things.
