iPhone 5S Facebook message notifications?

I just got my first iPhone which is a 5s, and I was messing with my notifications to stop comments from showing on the lock screen, but now I don't get notified if I get a message unless I'm using the Facebook app, as far as I know my settings should make it so I get message notifications but it's just not working. Any ideas?

Download the free Facebook Messenger app, that wat you can seperate the 2 notifications.

In the Notification Center, choose Facebook.

You an turn the alert style to "None". The badge app icon means for each notification, you will get a number in a red dot on the app. You can turn that on or off.

As someone else also mentioned, you can get the Facebook Messenger app. Then you can put the settings for messages separately.

I believe that for the notifications from Facebook itself, you can go into the settings on your Facebook and choose what you get notified about (on both computer and mobile).
