Ad block not working on Chrome?

I installed adblock on Google Chrome when I got it and it worked fine. But now for some reason ads show up again but you can see what's being advertised and it says for example: Ads not by Facebook or ads not by this site. I tried uninstalling Chrome and re installing it and it worked for a bit but now it's back. Why is this happening and how do I get rid of it?
Also some words get underlined and ads appear there too when I put my mouse over it.

Hey, Im using Ad Block Plus. It seams to be better than standard ads and i havent seen an AD in years. Try removing the Ad Bock Extension and install AdBlockPlus (Link below)
To uninstall the extension go to the tool bar or three lines beside the address bar on your browser. Hover over tools and select extensions. Hit the trash can next to Ad Block. If it happens in future re-install ad block plus, but like i say, it always works for me
