Do you need to be involved in social media to be social?

What I mean by social media is; Facebook, Twitter, Vine, etc...
Do you have to be involved in social media to have more friends or even make friends? I'm moving once I'm done with my junior year and was thinking about making a twitter. Many people where I live now do not use Facebook much. Twitter is becoming so popular. My sister logged in to her account in my phone. So I was snooping around and twitter just seems boring to death to me.

Honestly,some ppl prefer social media but you don't need to have a twitter to have more friends,maybe you should go make more friends or have hangouts with ppl! That's gonna help your social life
