Facebook e-mail and privacy question?
Asked this question last night and neither answer gave me the answer I was looking for... So I'll try to explain it better... If you message someone who is not your 'friend' on facebook but they receive messages from 'friends only' (as their privacy setting) does it send you an alert stating this? Or do the messages just 'send' and never show up on that person's inbox. As an example, I receive messages from 'friends only' but say someone I know who is not my actual 'friend' on facebook tried to e-mail me and was upset that I didn't respond. Would they have received a returned e-mail from facebook stating that I only receive messages from 'friends' or would they get no alert telling them that but the message would still appear as though it sent to them. I hope that's a better explanation, Thanks!

Same problem here.
ISent my friend a friend request, she still hasn't accepted it. I sent a msg, and she said she had never received it. So Im thinking it doesn't notify you. But it should. Ads |

Nope it just sends. If you have your privacy settings set to friends only then no one could message you, but your friends. If you don't then they could and you would just get the message. There is no alerting involved for that specific person that sent you that message. So you cannot find out whether or not he/shes a friend.
