Why does facebook make cover photos be public without any privacy options?
They have privacy options for literally every other thing on facebook, why would they make cover photos have no optional privacy settings? It would make sense for cover photos to have the same privacy options as profile pictures - so that someone would see it when they go to your profile but not be able to access and click on it (and therefore see caption, likes and comments). Why would facebook force cover photos to be public?? It makes me hesitant to have cover photos because I want strong privacy settings and don't want non-friends to access my pictures. If I understood any reason for this it would make it less annoying... Anyone know or have any thoughts as to why this is??

because facebook is a social networking site, not a private networking site
if you want the photo to be private then put it into a different album, not the cover photos album Ads |
