Facebook Page w/ no Admins, can't add admins...?

We are a student group that originally created an account as a personal account but recently converted to a facebook page. The only issue is, now we cannot add any admins, we don' have any admins, we don't have access to the page from our personal accounts and don't have a search bar. Please help!
We have logged in. We can get to the page where you are supposed to be able to add admins but no one's name populates when trying to add admins and subsequently we cannot add any admins. We aren't idiots. Something is seriously broken, or the person we tasked with the transition skipped a step.
