How to be friends with this girl?

There's a girl at school who I really like, I really want to get to know her/be friends (I'm bi girl, I like her but not necessarily trying to get anything out of it). I'm shy and she's popular. I think if I only talk on facebook it'll be a bit fake, done it before and it's just awkward at school :/
Our paths don't cross anymore but when they did, we got on so well. I never see her at school, if I do we say hey but that's it. We have pretty separate groups and trust me they'll never mix :/ Help please!

Well one way to get to KNOW her is spending time with her. This can be done several ways. Just start by aASKING her to go for a drink ie soda pop, hot chocolate, tea, coffee etc. with you AFTER school. Another one may be go to a MOVIE that is new & that she may enjoy. Go to a school EVENT together or if possible ask her to come to your place for a SLEEPOVER. Most girls enjoy those, girl talk & games. I hope that this helps you.
