Can you go to jail for harrasment?
Basically i got caught cheating on my bf, all that happen was kissing and exchange of nude pics, when i told this guy i want nothing to do with him he facebook my bf and my bf family all these bad pics and all the drama that went down, anyways tension was in the air, my family got involved and said lets get the involved for what this dude did by exposing your privacy, cops said he cant go to jail but we can press charges, ive been asking my parents to call the cops cause i wanted an update of what the cops said to the jerk buy they never did

My parents told me he is not to contact me nor i contact him,

I am shookin up cause i made this text from computer account and basically pretend to be some one else to make sure he deleted shit from his devices, he asked who i am but i ignore him and kept harrasing if he deleted all shit, he said i will get a cop to investigate this email, im scared, will i go to jail for harrasing him? I just wanted pics gone from his phone Sad

Well, you didn't say if you were underage or not. If you are, I can't imagine that the police wouldn't charge him for possession of nude photos of you. That is a serious crime that can get him sent to prison.

If you are not underage, it is not up to your family to dictate to you what you do and do not do. Nor is it their responsibility to call the police for you.

Generally, criminal harassment begins with the 2nd unwanted contact. There are exceptions, such as threats or obscene material, but generally if you make some contact, either in person, by mail, on the phone, or on the internet, and it ordinarily wouldn't be a crime to do so, and the person tells you to stop, then you have committed no crime unless you contact him a second time. One email does not constitute harassment, unless it contains a threat or something obscene, or something like that.

If you broke into a computer system (used a stolen password, for example), that's a crime. Just making up a phony account is usually not a crime, although it may be a violation of terms of service.

Using a phony identity (fake account, etc.) for personal gain is called fraud, and it is a crime. I doubt what you did rose to the level of fraud, but there is a chance it did.

More importantly:

If you are underage, it is a crime for him to continue to posses nude photos of you.

If you are not underage, and you freely gave him the photos, he may continue to have and possess them for his own personal use, and there is little you can do about it. He may not use them for commercial purposes or to falsely defame your reputation (for example, post a nude photo of you, and put a caption by it saying that this is you after you have just had sex with 20 guys).

YES, harassment is a misdemeanor crime in most states, and you can go to jail if you are convicted. Sending nude photos of an underage person is transmitting child pornography, and that is a prison sentence. Let it go, and have a little self respect for yourself. Are you that insecure that if you are in a relationship with someone, you have to send nude pics and make out with someone else to feel special or good about yourself?
