Is it appropriate to clear "my Facebook friend list" every month?
For the past two years, at the beginning of every three months, I go over my list of Facebook friends and delete anyone that I haven't talked to for a year or so.. The reason I've been doing this is because I don't think that there is a purpose for adding someone as a friend to your Facebook account if he/she never writes in your wall, messages you, etc.. Is my decision considered to be appropriate? Do most people "remove" friends occasionally? Will removing friends "isolate" me from others? I have around 200+ friends as of now.. I would have probably 500+ friends if I haven't deleted some friends from my list.. How do you base your decisions when you add/ignore/delete friends?

No one that I know removes friends from their facebook every once in a while. facebook isn't ALL about keeping in contact with friends. nowadays, the more friends you have, the "cooler" you are. So, it's not too appropriate. Those friends you have removed might have thought it was a rude gesture. But maybe you should write on their wall or send them a message.

It will only "isolate" you from people who don't communicate with you anyhow.

It is appropriate but some people might take offense to it. I remove people occasionally if I accidentally add someone I don't know. Removing people won't isolate you from others unless you only have like less than ten friends or something on facebook and barely talk or do things on the website.

I base my decisions when I add people based on if I've met them in real life, or have seen them in real life.

When I ignore people or block them they had to have really pissed me off. When I delete people it's based on weirdos adding me just to try to "make friends", I only add people I've met or seen in person or if I know they are a real person.
