My brand new ipod touch button's won't work..?

I just got it today as an early christmas present and it worked fine until I tried to close and app then it wouldn't sleep, go to the home page when I opened another app, & change the volume.
The screen works fine. Right now I'm stuck on facebook so I can't go to settings and change it.

nothing can fix it. you still have warranty because you just got it today so back it up to icloud/itunes, set up an appointment online and take it to the apple store. once they verify you have warranty which takes a few minutes. they'll give you a new ipod instantly.
