My Facebook upgraded itself to Timeline. What is going on?
Ever since the Timeline design came out, I hated it and decided right then and there that I would NOT upgrade my Facebook to Timeline. Well, today when I logged on to my Facebook account it became quite apparent to me that my Facebook had changed and upgraded to Timeline, without my consent. Is there a way to change my Facebook back? When I Googled "How to remove Facebook Timeline" the first step was "Step 1: Head to the Facebook Developers page where you originally created an app to enable Timeline. Click "Edit app." However, I never created an app to enable Timeline in the first place and even when I did follow the first step (just to double check that I didn't accidentally upgrade my Facebook to Timeline) there was nothing I could do because I, in fact, hadn't enabled Timeline in the first place. I am confused what I should do. Did this happen to anybody else? I have heard rumors that in the near future Facebook will mandate the Timeline design for all its users.

That's not a rumor; Facebook has been slowly rolling out Timeline to many of its users, whether they want to or not. As soon as it was revealed, Facebook allowed you to use Timeline early, so that users could get used to it. (Many complained in the past that, whenever Facebook rolled out a new design, it was too difficult/confusing to use. Thus, FB gave a 'preview' period to eliminate that complaint.) Of course, that 'get-used-to-it' period has passed, and so now, FB is gradually rolling the change to everyone. Ads |

everyone is being converted to the timeline - it's the new look for facebook, not an optional update - they are now forcibly converting everyone slowly without your consent
