Would I qualify for scoliosis surgery?

Would I qualify for scoliosis surgery?
I've had scoliosis since I was a kid and it's progressively gotten worse to the point that I am in discomfort every day. It's like everything is crooked one way or another. My hips are uneven, one rib sticks out farther than the other, one side of my waist is practically flat (not curvy like the other side), one of my shoulders is slouched and my collar bone pokes out a little.

The only thing that almost constantly bothers me is my neck, in the front it feels like the muscles are worn out & tired or like they've been strained. It bothers me so much I have to sit in certain positions (or lay down) to find relief and it it will last for hours. Until the muscles are healed or whatever again. Not to mention I can't lay flat on my back because my tail bone sticks out and it pops when I lay on it...it's weird.

I just wonder if I would qualify for surgery? & if so, I want to know if the surgery would fix everything aesthetically too? Like my hips & ribs popping out and all of that.
Thanks for answering, and ya I haven't been monitored at all. Both doctors I've went to have noting to say about my scoliosis except "there's nothing we can do,". Didn't check it or anything. They did when I was a kid, at school that's how I was first diagnosed. It was 7 degrees off back then when I was about 7-10. I'm 19 now & in the U.S.

I'm actually pretty sure I'd qualify because the discomfort in my neck does get severe, it's not pain but it feels so strained that I literally have to lay down it bothers me so much & it can prevent me from working. That, plus I forgot to mention I've been having neck spasms. Like I guess it's pinching a nerve or something because when I'm tense my head/neck will twitch slightly to the side. It's not bad, but it's getting worse & it's worrying me. I think I'm going to have to have something done soon (which is scary) because of the twitch/spasm.

Hi
Have you been seen by a doctor & refer to a spinal surgeon? They could answer all your questions With scoliosis you should be monitored the rest of your life. You need to get new xrays, maybe an MRI, Cat-Scan, & Bone Density tests to find out what is going with your scoliosis.

I had the surgery 20 months ago & doing well. My protruding hip & uneven shoulders are history. My curvatures is less than 10% now.

Only a surgeon could tell you what can done during your particular surgery.

There are a lot of facebook support groups.

How old are? What country do you live in?
