What are the advantages and disadvantages of social media?

As far as everyday life goes, what advantages does social media provide for the common person? Does social media make life easier? Even if it does make life easier, if put in the wrong hands can it be harmful?

i actually did a report on this in school, yes it does make life easier because people can comunicate much easier through these sites, especially if the two are a long distance away.

onto your other question, yes it can be dangerous in the wrong hands. For example mark zucherburg (the owner of facebook) will track every page you visit, like, ect and sell that informatin to advertisers.
