When girls dont follow back on twitter?
I recently made a twitter and followed everybody from my school but I've noticed that the girls that are friends with my friends have followed my friends but none of them have followed me? Its been about 2 weeks now, is this all just about likeability? Does it mean I'm not really liked by any of the ''mutual'' female friends that are friends with my friends? I have followed all of them, I tweet a fair amount and they follow other guys who tweet as much as me if not less then me

Unfortunately, yes, much of the social media websites these days are all about likeability/popularity. They don't want to be "following" someone that might make them look bad and/or someone who isn't popular. I think it is a really sad reality because so many individuals (myself included) have gotten their feelings hurt through our modern day technology. Our world is becoming more and more fake...people only "follow" (or don't follow) certain people to enhance their own image and to appear "cool" and "liked". Also, many people like it when others follow them because it makes them look popular...and when someone follows you and you don't follow back, you get tons of followers, but not a lot of people you're following. For instance, you can have 200 followers and only be following 90 people.
Not following someone back on Twitter, etc. has a ton of different meanings. It can definitely mean you're not liked, it can mean they're just too selfish to actually "follow" back (ie: they want the status of having lots of followers), it could mean that they didn't realize you had followed them, etc. Whatever the reason, I think it's very selfish/rude of them to not acknowledge you/follow back. I'm so sorry and I hope things get better. Also remember that Twitter, Instagram, Fb, etc. aren't the real world. They're tools designed to make communication easier, faster, and fun and often people use social media websites as a way to project this "ideal" image of themselves. But, unfortunately, people's feelings do get hurt quite frequently. Don't take it too seriously, though, and I hope everything works out. Good luck! Smile
