Eh, I see what you're saying, but there are around 2.2 billion Muslims in the world ... I would imagine if Islam really was about violence that there would be significantly more in the world. I'm unsure if there is more violence associated with Islam because there are so many Muslims (more people means more crazies) or if it has something to do with Islam itself. In reality, it's probably quite complicated. I don't think it starts simply because someone says "I'm a Muslim, I'm going to go blow something up", I think it is more politically motivated (i.e. anti-Israel, anti-U.S. imperialism in the middle east, etc.) than some people would suggest.

Well, Islam is not violent by nature, the reason that many Islamic people are seen as violent is because their religious beliefs have been violated in one way or another, you are just using the stereotype, Islam is a religion based on peace with the land and all of its inhabitants, its just that many middle-eastern countries due to extremist beliefs have distorted interpretations of the teachings found in the Koran.

It's not a joke, it's a sign of how ignorant people are of Islam. The quoran teaches them to "kill or convert all men." They are at war with all non muslims.

CAIR has been trying to sell that fiction fo years. Many others have picked up on it and use the phrase to mock them for their extreme tolerance of their violant and radical groups.

Ted you are wrong there. The Provos (Provisional wing of the Irish Republican Army) claim to be Catholic. They are terrorists in every sense and some of them trained in terrorist tactics with the radical terrorist Muslim training camps.

Yes it is a joke, And to those saying it is only a small number of muslims committing terrorist acts, you need to realize that to condone, support or remain silent of the atrocities makes a person culpable and until the "Good peace loving muslims" stand up and condemn the actions of their fellow muslims, islam cannot be considered a religion of peace.

You cannot judge a group of people, whether it be religious or nationality, by the radicals, it would be like saying that every single white American is a racist because of the KKK, or every German was a Nazi in WWII. For the most part, Islam and its five pillars are peaceful, it is just the smaller group of radicals and their 6th pillar that gets more attention.
