facebook notifications?

Is there a way to add or delete what notifications show up on your facebook? or is it pretty much everyone who posts something is gonna show up regardless unless you delete them from your friends list??
i ment to change whose posts who up on my screen. theres some friend who ALWAYS are posting random garbage on there wall and ofcourse i always see it, so i dont want to delete them as friends cause there friends but i just want to be able for THERE post not to show up, but still other can....maybe it isnt even possible huh

go to account settings and click notifications and check off the notifications you want and dont want!
