Getting the necessary exposure and traffic to support a physical drop off location has to be tricky, if they choose to this would be the sort of missing element Craigslist could easily add to their system which always encourages dealing with locals, getting on the ground floor setting up and managing drop off locations for them could be a profitable venture,

Routine online classified ads site have the same chicken and egg problem with not being able to attract buyers until they have a lot of seller listing and sellers only wanting to list on sites with buyers, some scrape ads from existing sites just to seed the content of their site, it's more tricky to prime the pump for your business. You Really need to get those empty categories filled in and a more professional looking site to be taken seriously by prospects, a search for Craigslist Clone will turn up ready made classified ad site scripts which may have design themes you can adapt.

You know Facebook and Youtube are just a couple of examples of ventures that operated at a loss from investor funds for years before they established a big enough footprint to be profitable. You would probably have to pump a ton of money into geo targeted internet ads to get any traction, Facebook paid ads are good for targeting a specific city and not the more vague service provider location IP address most of the other ad systems use.

One though, seek out all the consignment stores you can find, you might be able to establish mutually beneficial arrangements with them acting as drop off locations and you listing their inventories to help seed your content.

Off-roaders tend to have the sort of drive it may take to succeed in an entrepreneurial venture, but short of incorporating it's probably at least worth getting a DBA name and a separate business paypal account and bank account, you might find that you ultimately have to handle sales tax in these transactions, an IRS EIN# is a useful alternative to your SS#.
