How do you get more instagram followers without following them first?

I already know that when you follow famous people, you get a couple followers back and also if you follow a bunch of people you get some followers back.. But are there anymore tricks/ways without following a bunch of people? Also, how to get more likes without using hashtags? Thanks c:

Ive always been a follow for follow but i know if you post pictures of famous people first using hashtags you could gain followers also commenting works i commented on multiple photos on popular page and gained over 100 followers, Afterwards use pics of yourself preferably pretty ones if girl and justin bieber like photos if guy and you will get likes without hashtags eventually
