Sheffield or Manchester?
Hi there! I'm an italian girl and I'd love to move in the north of England in future.I hate to live in Italy and I don't understand why people want to move here. By the way I have a few questions... please be patient with me Smile Which is the best place to live between Manchester and Sheffield? Which city has the best job market? The best night-life? The best indie-rock scene? I'm not interested in university-life because I want to get my degree here in Italy ( or in Scotland, maybe?) . I'm only 17 but I'm putting my heart and soul into it. I'm not interested to meet Italian people when I'll be there. The few Italians I meet, the happier I am haha.
If you want, you can contact me on twitter: https://twitter.com/extrazucchero
Cheers!

BOTH great, but most, here in the UK, would say MANCHESTER.......Between Manchester & Sheffield is a wasteland...Would have to live somewhere in Tameside, but for two cities so close the connections are NOT great....City centre to city centre is best by TRAIN......
Manchester is THE fastest growing city in the UK, just now, and claims to be the UK's SECOND city.......Gerater Manchester has it all....with a population of over 2.7 million. It also has a VERY long established ITALIAN community, going back over 100 years..... South Yorkshire, around Sheffield, is also a big area but NOT quite in the same league.......Good luck!

I agree with TSK - I have been to Sheffield - and I was not impressed - the centre of Mancheser is undergoing massive refurbishment. There is night life in Manchester - can't speak for Sheffield.

There are no jobs that suit me in my home city (Manchester)- don't know if it is any better in Sheffield.

Music scene is good here, and we have an Italian history as TSK says.

Manchester wins for me too, but sheffields ok as well.
Mcr beats Sheffield in all the questions you asked.
Very nice scenery between the two cities (peak district). It won't be cheap!

Manchester-
I live in Manchester (sale) it's amazing. The man united ground is so close to where I live. Also the trafford centre is amazing! There is so much to do their. Shops/food outlets/arcade.
People around your age in Manchester(my age too) wear vans, converse, toms. Superdry, hollister,Pauls boutique.
Skinny jeans, chinos, denim shorts ect. They listen to music like eminem, wiz Khalifa, Bruno mars, Rihanna, beyonce, nick minaj. Ect..
So that's kinda indie.(if we have the same definition and meaning for that word)
Manchester also has night life in the city centre their is lots of clubs and places to meet people. Around where I live in the m33 postal code their is three main shopping places. Manchester city centre which is huge. Trafford centre which is big. And stretford mall which isnt huge but has a good variety of shops.
They're all within half an hour of each other too.
Their is plenty of jobs around.
It's a really amazing place to live.
I would say the only downside is the weather but it's bad all over England. To be honest though we do have a few months of sunshine in summer and sometimes snow in the winter. Christmas is amazing too in the city centre. There is a Christmas market where you can get some amazing things.
