The White House is collecting and storing comments and videos placed on its social-networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube without notifying or asking the consent of the site users, a failure that appears to run counter to President Obama's promise of a transparent government and his pledge to protect privacy on the Internet.

The government has always been keeping tabs on us. Ever hear of Operation Chaos? Even right now, if you say certain things over a phone that uses a satellite or types certain words that go over the internet, the government will catch the transmition and listen/read to it. They've been doing this for years and Bush's Patriot Act gave them the legal right to do it.

its about time that government and other agency's are held accountable for there actions for violating peoples right to privacy. These departments claim to respect privacy on paper only until someone or other agency want the in for then your 110% exploded. Verizon is a notorious for exploding peoples privacy but the other agency's are Just as bad. This is a proven fact. You ever hear what you don't know wont hurt you well that's fiction need to die what you don't know will hurt you. The secret call center that duty to record all phone calls in the us all of them to anyone any were on any system staring with Verizon that mr bushy secretly put into motion. that program needs to be deleted at once.
