LGBT: What do you use Facebook for?

For the LGBTers on social networking sites - my site of choice being Facebook - what's your reasons for being on these sites?

I don't really use all the apps, mostly one or two, but I've gotten in touch with people I haven't spoken to in years, from college and high school. For the most part, I use the site to post articles I think the people on my contact list would be interested in - LGBT issues, religion, and other interesting topics. I'm kind of trying to squash the loads of disinformation out there, in what little ways I can.

I'm curious what social networking sites you use, and what do you specifically use them for? Connecting with friends? Posting articles? Playing with apps?

i use myspace and i only have like two apps on there.

I love facebook just to talk with friends i met who live all over the place, some in argentinia, all over europe, australia, canada , usa, etc. I like having groups, nice way to spread information, and messaging is nice too.

i mostly use myspace but i have been using facebook a lot.

because i have found distant family members that i am related to. Like i know no one on my dad's side or i don't know anything about them but i found them on facebook and have come in contact with them.

i use myspace, and mainly just to play with my little pet on there. lol. for actual social thing i have a gaia account that i like, but it's more like rp kinda thing than a myspace. i also have a tagged but i hate it there and a few other things i've signed up for through friends but i never sign in. i'm always on here or gaia. lol

I use it to keep in touch with people I know. It's easier than phoning/texting someone with something that isn't really urgent or important.

I can't stand apps and hate that every time I log on the same three or four people have sent me requests to add whatever useless application is doing the rounds this week as well as requests to join groups about whatever big stories are in the news right now but will be forgotten in a day or two.

I use MySpace too but it seems everyone's abandoned that for Facebook recently and now MySpace is trying to be as much like Facebook as possible in an attempt to win them back.

i use facebook too.. though i have a myspace account but i'm not much active on it...

i'm more into facebook because all my friends have it .. and it's alot easier staying in touch with them via facebook rather than chatting on messenger..

i like some applications .. there's one game i like to play.. it's called pet society..

i like the application of causes.. and the organizations' pages.. i learn alot of new things about them.. i've joined some causes and invited my friends to it.. and i try to make them see things from a different view..

i like the groups too.. meeting new people... finding people of the same interest.. for example. .my bro's made a group on facebook for all artists... and it's surprising how different are and how they can be creative. it makes me want to try more and dive deeper into whatever it is that i do..
